Description
A lovely Amy Sandheim of London floral pendant, c1930, which has a large and super sparkly faceted citrine as the centrepiece. I love the way it has a silver edging all the way around to protect the edges of the large stone from the occasional knock. The flower design is somewhat reminiscent of lilies and appears (as usual for Sandheim) on both the front and verso of the silver cap. I love these Amy pieces and they really are becoming difficult to find. She made them herself and so each is unique; hence there is rather a limited supply of pieces.
This large, statement pendant is a beauty. The oval moonstone at the top, dotted with three tiny silver balls on the top and then a silver ball below, set either side of the silver link connecting the next part of the pendant. A small faceted citrine sits below that, with the main pendant suspended below it. I love the way the silver decoration at the top of the main stone has stones nestled in the design; a large oval moonstone referencing the first moonstone in the pendant, two round faceted citrines and one square cut citrine in the centre. The citrines are beautifully colour-matched. The verso has the silver lilies design…one of the most beautiful flower designs I have seen in her work.
The pendant measures approx 8.5cm in height and is light, bright super sparkly and just a joyful piece. There is the typical large Amy bale sitting behind the top moonstone, so you can add a chain of your choice. This listing is for the pendant only. In pleasing condition with just a sliver of a bite to a corner of the small square citrine, which I spotted under scrutiny with a jeweller’s loupe. It does not go right through the stone so you can’t see it and certainly would not be worth replacing. As I said, surprisingly lovely condition for her age.
I shall send in a new gift box by Special Delivery within the UK or else by International Express courier. Boxes in the images are for display only and are not included.
