Description
This lovely Arts and Crafts flower bouquet brooch from the late 1920s / early 1930s is another wonderful example of Dorrie’s work. I love the sunny, summery look of this brooch in particular, with its citrines and pale peridots. It is a versatile piece, as it is also wearable as a pendant if you simply pass a chain through the pin -I will attach a photo.
It is a perfectly-formed piece, which as mentioned, hangs well on a chain as a pendant too. One smaller flower with a large citrine, drapes to the left, with a larger, forget-me-not flower to the right of it.
Here we have those typical Dorrie gold balls interspersed throughout the design. That silver gilt ribbon and bow, wraps up this statement brooch into a jewel anybody would be delighted to wear.
It measures approx 4.3cm by approx 3.8cm and is (as you can see) studded with jewels. In pleasing condition for her age. There are a few nibbles from the large citrine, visible with a loupe and a little scoop to the back of the stone. None of which are noticeable as you wear her. I have magnified the photos a lot so that you can see the scoop I am referring to. I have taken account for it in the discounted price.
I will post with International Tracked and Signed or else Special Delivery. I will provide a new gift box as the box in the images is for display only. Thank you! Ref: cuz
