Description

A very rare Bernard Instone example from the late 1920s-1930. It very much shows the influence of the work Bernard did with the Gaskins. With the wonderful flecked leaves and forget-me-not flowers picked out in gold, this is a carefully and precisely crafted ring. It is also a book piece, appearing on p123 of the literature “Bernard Instone  Designer and craftsman: the art of a jeweller” by Tracy Henriksen.

The domed Swiss lapis has its own precisely executed mille grain setting and the openwork design of the halo around the stone is set with flowers, leaves and tendrils. It is such a pleasing and rare design. Super to look at the hand-crafted work underneath the face of the ring too. As an earlier example, you can really see the detailing in all its glory.

It has a typical A&C double band, stamped as sterling silver. It is in wonderful condition and for a ring coming up to a 100 years old, it is so pleasing to see how it has been well-cared for during its existence. It measures as approx UK size L (US approx 5.75). A joy to look at on the finger and also hugely comfortable to wear. It sings early Instone.

I will send in a new gift box as the boxes in the images are for display only. Complimentary international tracked and signed or else Special Delivery within the UK. Thank you.
