Description
A wonderful antique Edwardian 9ct gold pendant, c1910, of a lovely, open design with a pear-shaped faceted amethyst and seed pearl. I love the fact that there is a rather substantial, hand-crafted gold bale too, which means it would accommodate one of your own gold chains, as this listing is for the pendant only.
The shield-shape to this openwork pendant is gorgeous and really does set it apart from many other Edwardian pendants I have seen. The numerous claws retaining the pale plum amethyst in the centre, also look attractive. It is quite a large example of its type, at approx 5cm in height, including the bale. Fully tested as 9ct gold.
