Description

A beautiful design which I have seen once or twice before, described as of the Edwardian era. However, I believe it to be a later piece in the style of a beautiful Belle Epoque necklace. It is well-constructed, with the pendant section executed in silver gilt, with ribbon-like lines dotted with real diamonds. There are seed pearls and also cultured pearls in the design.

The openwork design is light and ethereal, in typical Belle Epoque fashion. I love the ribbon effects to the form, that are dotted with diamonds. There are two pearl drops, the central one inside the pendant and a larger one suspended below the pendant, so you get a sense of articulation as the pendant moves. The necklace has a fine sterling silver chain.

The pendant makes a lovely statement at approx 5.4cm in height by approx 4.5cm wide so is a good size to be seen. The wearable length of the necklace is approx 45cm (17.75 inches). In pleasing condition-there may be a tiny pearl missing from the design as there is a space, however, it looks to be part of the design so is not noticeable. (look at the small circle above the large pearl drop)

I shall send in a new gift box as the box in the images is for display only. International tracked and signed is included and special delivery within the UK. Thank you.
