Description
An antique Victorian boat ring, which is in pleasing condition, with an 18ct stamp and partial maker’s mark. Under the loupe I can also see a series of finely hand-etched jeweller’s numbers .It comes in its original box (split in tow now but I simply couldn’t separate them at this point in their lives). I shall also include a new box so you have the choice once you receive the ring.
This is a good weight boat ring, at 4.9g, as it has a substantial setting and shoulders (not open-backed stones but in a solid gold setting). Always worth checking the weight of the ring if you are comparing similar items, as there are a number of boat rings available. However, many are rather lightweight unlike this example.
In the “boat” section are 8 small split pearls and two small old-cut diamonds. I love the simple design to the shoulders, simple and yet a little bit more detailed than you find with plain bands so it does stand out. She has clearly been well looked-after as she is in pleasing condition and ready to wear or else to gift.
It weighs approx 4.9g and as mentioned, is fully marked for 18ct gold, also carrying partial maker’s marks. It measures as approx UK size M.5 (US size 6.5).
I will send in her original box (damaged but a part of her history). I will also include a new ring box. I shall send by complimentary special delivery within the UK or else by international tracked and signed. Thank you.
