Sensational and rare Georgian bracelet in gold

Description

A truly glorious and special jewel, created in the Georgian era in the early decades of the 1800s. It is crafted with cushion-shaped flat-cut garnets set into their own closed back scroll and foliate design settings. It is pure quality and a rare design that I have not seen before. The garnets are a juicy red colour, beautifully cut and are in excellent condition.

Twelve of these solid gold panels are linked together and a further stone is set on the gem-set box clasp, giving the bracelet a riviere feel of continuous stones. The tongue and clasp are original and there is a tiny maker’s mark on the corner of the tongue section, however, I do not recognise the maker’s mark. The gold panels test as approx 15ct solid gold and the tongue that fits inside the box clasp is most likely 9ct.

It is a petite piece of historical importance and beauty and as such, is fairly petite in length by today’s standards, so please check the measurements to ensure it fits you. Such bracelets do not appear often, especially with these intricate gold panels, so this is a must for Georgian jewellery collectors. It is a truly beautiful thing.

The width of this fabulous bracelet is approx 9mm and the length is approx 16cm (6.25 inches). The safety chain looks like it may be original to the piece too. Very light wear to the stones only, which is remarkable considering her age.

I shall send in a new gift box by complimentary special delivery within the UK or else by international express courier. All boxes in the images are for display only. Thank you.
