Description
This is a glorious, English c1900 Arts and Crafts design, which catches the eye so easily. What a beautiful statement she makes, not only a captivating design but the precise execution is sublime and those blue zircons! Very rare to find a piece with natural blue zircons so she is a rare thing indeed. Hand-crafted in entirety and you can only guess at the amount of hours this took to create. Undoubtedly a one off piece of antique jewellery.
Birmingham School influences the design and I think you can even see the Gaskins’ influence too. I have been trying to work out where I have seen those “arrowhead” leaves before- so stylised and so unique, but I haven’t got there yet. I’m still trying – it is a known designer for sure. The large wreath design has six integral bezel set faceted blue zircons, which catch the light sublimely. The hand-tooled leaves intersperse the design and there are singular silver balls and gold balls dotted around at strategic points. One blue zircon drop and one that sits just under the bale, suspending the two parallel chains that lead to the main wreath.
It is a striking and beautiful design of a lovely size for all to adore. The drop of the pendant from the top of the bale is approx 9.5cm and the length of the accompanying chain is approx 45.5cm (a touch under 18 inches). The bale is large so would accommodate a range of other chains if you had another in mind. I will include this antique chain for you, however.
In excellent order with no damage to those fabulous 8 blue zircons- how gorgeous to have such a piece with only blue stones π I shall send in a new gift box (not the box in the images) and send by Special Delivery within the UK or else by courier internationally. Thank you.
