Description

An exceptional pair of fine quality 15ct yellow gold Edwardian drop earrings, nestled in their original and very beautiful shield-shaped leather box. Both the earrings and the box are in lovely condition. I love that the green stones are demantoid garnets, as that is a little rare to find.
They are fitted with modern gold wires so are ready to wear as soon as you receive them. The design is absorbing; a seed pearl is set at the lobe and from those an elongated drop is suspended. Each drop culminates in an oval outer framework in gold and a blister pearl has been suspended separately so that it articulates within the gold framework when worn. A demantoid garnet is set at either end of the central oval link. The garnets are vivid in colour and the pearls are very lustrous. If you turn the earrings over you can see how they have been mounted on a little gold plaque.

Sensational Edwardian earrings from the c1910 era and so rare in their design- add in their exquisite antique box fashioned from red leather, silk and velvet, and you have a stunning combination.

These are fine pieces and light to wear. Each earring measures approx 3cm in height. Just lovely things!

All stones and gold work in excellent condition. These beautiful things will make a welcome addition to someone’s antique jewellery collection.

I shall post in their original box unless you prefer a new box-just let me know. Thank you. Special delivery within the UK and by express courier internationally.
