A lovely pair of drop earrings from the 1920s-1930s Edwardian – Art Deco era, which have been fitted onto easy-to-wear silver wire fittings. They were originally on antique screw backs. I love these rich amethysts and the design is really wearable for us today. Very attractive earrings.
I love the four part design, which is beautifully articulated. At the top of the drop is a round, faceted amethyst in its own mille grain setting. A small round faceted bezel set rock crystal stone is next on the drop, followed by another a few links down. They are both hand mille grain set too. The pendulous drop culminates with a large oval, faceted amethyst, again in a mille grain bezel collar. (open-backed to allow light to flood through the stone as you wear it). In fact, all of the stones are open-backed for the same reason.
Such a wearable size too-not too small but also not too large and clunky. A sleek, beautiful drop of approx 3cm. In excellent condition with no damage – all silver and stones have been tested.
