Description

A fabulous early Art Deco antique ring, dating from the 1920s, in a lovely oval shaped target design. It is a French piece as there are the remains of an antique French mark on the gold band. Most likely a trailblazer piece as the French Art Deco scene was the front runner of the movement. Of beautiful proportions, this ring is large enough to make an immediate statement on your finger but it is not clunky. It is an elegant ring which sits low to the finger so is very comfortable to wear too. UK size L /US size 5.75.

The structure of the ring is crafted in 18ct yellow gold, with the whole face of the ring being platinum-set. It features a claw-set old-cut, central diamond, raised slightly from the face of the ring. An open-work design allows a lightness to the look of the ring, with a circular platinum halo running around the central diamond. Another slight gap and the final halo, which is studded with old-cut diamonds in the oval design you can see. Three diamonds at the top and three in the bottom section, adding that extra sparkle. A small double-leafed foliate design in platinum on each shoulder holds two tiny old-cut diamonds. This ring has such a beautiful design and it really sings the glamour of the early Art Deco period.

Elegant design, coupled with excellent materials. In pleasing condition, with one teeny nibble to a small diamond, unnoticeable with the naked eye, which is why my jeweller recommended leaving it rather than replacing with a new stone. All materials have been tested as authentic and there is also a seral number on the inside of the band, which reads “15090”.

I shall post by complimentary Special Delivery within the UK or else by International Tracked and Signed. Boxes in the images are for display only but I will send in a new gift box to keep her safe. Thank you.
