A really beautiful authentic 1930s Art Deco bracelet, which is a rare Catalan piece, so sought after nowadays. Most likely made in Barcelona-it is stamped twice on the clasp as silver and also has a maker’s mark, which is too tiny to read.
Such an eye catching Deco design, which features symmetrical designs of crescent moons and central balls overlaid in gold. The gold was laid in thicker sheets and fused to the silver, so it is more robust and has a thicker layer of gold than silver gilt. The success of this beautiful Deco bracelet lies in two key factors. Firstly the way the large semi-globe of gold is used as the connector between the silver links…..the juxtaposition of colours is wonderful. Secondly, the crescent moon shapes with the full moon shapes-just lovely.
The catch clicks well, there is a safety chain and the bracelet is pleasingly long at 20cm (8 inches). She measures approx 1cm wide so gives the boldness of Deco design without being overly clunky. I love the invisible box clasp and tongue used to fasten her. Just a lovely statement bracelet, which is sure to catch peoples’ attention.
I shall send Tracked and Signed in a new gift box. Please note I am not sending to Germany at the moment. Thank you.
