Description
A beautiful design c1905 and firmly attributed to the Artificers’ Guild, this ring is such a wonderful take on a Toi et Moi ring. Most likely a unique piece, this has been crafted by hand and has the most precise detailing. One citrine is presented on the horizontal, whilst the other is on the vertical so that this ring runs along your finger in a flattering way.
A small pearl is set to both the right and left of the stones and is flanked by a pair of typical AG stylised leaves, studded with tiny gold balls. With a leaf at the top of the design, also accompanied by a pair of tiny gold balls. The stones are closed-backed and there is the usual gold wire detailing at the base of the settings.
It is a beautiful ring and in good order. The stones are a brown amber type of colour and, as you can see, cleaning fluid or else water has crept into the top setting giving it a more mottled appearance. It is not so visible when the ring is worn. The lower citrine has surface-reaching natural inclusions. Being offered at a very realistic price for a one-off Artificers’ Guild statement ring, because of this. The face of the ring measures approx 2.7cm by 1.5cm. It is a UK size N (US 6.5).
