Description
A wonderful pair of fine quality, antique drop earrings, which have been fitted with matching 9ct rose gold wires. There is a maker’s mark, and full UK hallmarks on the side of the wires. It is unusual to get so much detail on the wires themselves. I have seen this design replicated more recently with rather inferior moonstones set in silver, however, that is not the case here. The Ceylon moonstones are superb- highly adularescent as you can see, and each has been spectacle-set by hand in its own rose gold setting. The blues abound with the slightest of movements. Stunning!
I love the use of a single stone at the top of the drop, with the “grapes” cluster suspended below it. I counted 16 graduated cabochons in the bunch and with the one above, that makes 17 stones in each earring. The gold work is delicate and exquisite and I must say that the rose gold looks fabulous with the blue moonstones. Just all round beautiful things, with the stones hanging together wonderfully when worn. The drop measures approx 3.5cm. In excellent condition.
I shall send in a new gift box to keep them safe and will send by complimentary express courier internationally or else by special delivery within the UK. Boxes in the images are for display only-thank you.
