A rare matching set of Princess Harem jewellery in 18ct gold and mixed gemstones, which has the only drop earrings of this type I have ever come across. I have seen some stud type of Harem earrings occasionally, but never like this, on a drop with gemstones. This type of jewellery has really made a resurgence in popularity over recent years and it is easy to see why-it makes a big impact with the teardrop gemstones and other smaller stones dotted around the designs. It is nice to have an 18ct version, as most of the examples you see range from 9ct to 14ct. The ring is stamped 18ct and has been tested as that too.
I love that a clear stone has been used for all of the highlights on the ring and earrings-it tests as a gemstone and I am saying rock crystal, although it did test higher, so could be spinel. The main gems include emerald, ruby, sapphire, tiger’s eye and pink tourmaline. The teardrop gems are cut en cabochon and set in gold too. The smaller stones are set in silver….it suits the clarity of the stones well. The matching earrings are such a treat, with the same selection of teardrop gems and those smaller spinel/ rock crystal stones. I love that the gem studded circular plaque is suspended by gold links and three bezel set twinkling, clear stones. Then there is an organic triple foliate detail at the stud section, with three further stones. Fabulous!
The ring is approx UK size K (US 5.25) and is in excellent condition. The drop of the earrings measures as approx 3.7cm-they have solid gold, hand crafted butterfly fasteners and are also in excellent condition.
