You hardly ever come across pairs of Murrle Bennett earrings, as they just weren’t made in the quantities that some of their other jewellery items were made in. Plus, sometimes one earring was lost from the pair. Lots of reasons why it is a rarity to find a pair of MB earrings. I have NEVER come across this design on a pair of their earrings before. They are beautiful!
Honesty flowers were used as an Art Nouveau motif in jewellery at the turn of the last century and they are such a romantic symbol. These beautiful earrings show a cluster of three Sweet Honesty flowers in blue enamel. It is a cobalt blue enamel and is in superb condition. Bright, lustrous and oh so attractive.
I love the fact that the ear lobe section is a square, turned on its side and also decorated with the same blue enamel as the main flowers feature. It brings both parts together so well. As with all of the finest MB pieces, the original screwbacks are both in gold. Each earring is fully stamped with the usual “950” stamp for higher silver content than sterling and with the “MBo” maker’s mark.
These are just rare things so I am sure collectors will adore them. They measure approx 2.5cm in height and are in simply astonishing condition. Well protected over the years obviously.
