Description

Beautiful stamped solid 9ct gold earrings, the design of which I have seen on clunkier silver pieces but these really are lovely quality, being crafted in yellow gold. The design is extremely similar to other earrings I found when researching Rhoda Wager, so there lies my attribution. There is a four petal arrangement in which there are two scraped lines down each petal, exactly like the Wager ones I found. They are beautiful things and superlative in quality.

Pleasingly, these earrings are set with the most delightful white opals with streaks of colours, almost like colours raining through the stones.; greens, blues, reds and violets. I am imagining they are perhaps Boulder opals. The stones are set in a deep gold, mille grain setting and they still have their original 9ct gold screw backs attached. As you can see there is a cross band in gold at the back of the settings, in case you did wish to convert to posts-it looks like it would be an easy fix for your jeweller.

The diameter of each earring is approx 1.5cm so they are a useful size and, as said, the flashes in the opals are wonderful. A super pair of c1930s earrings, attributed to Rhoda Wager. I will send in a new gift box (box in the images is for display only) and by complimentary tracked and signed post. Thank you.
