Artificers’ Guild silver moonstone bracelet, England, c1905

1 in stock

A wonderful one-off piece of hand-crafted antique English Arts and Crafts work that is a joy of a thing and firmly attributed to the Artificers’ Guild c1905. It is such a strong statement of design with those instantly recognisable touches we love to see in the work of the Artificers’ Guild jewellery. The bracelet is studded with rivet-like silver buttons, even down to having them on the hand-wrought toggle and clasp. Beautiful!

Three very adularescent moonstones are set at the front section of the bracelet – they are a good size and throw the blue hues around very easily. I love that the centrally-set stone has a triangle of three tiny silver balls at both the top and bottom of the setting. Strong hand made links connect them, and they are decorated with a central button motif. There are some lovely, long silver links with a rivet set at each end and one to the centre. They lead to a silver roundel, with rope twist silver detailing, three circles and rivets at strategic points too. Then comes another elongated link before we have the afore-mentioned hand-wrought toggle fastener. The detailing is exquisite on this rare bracelet.

In original condition, a hand-crafted toggle fastener and an original safety chain. She measures approx 20cm (8 inches) in length and approx 1.7cm wide. Some patina remains, as I did not wish to polish away all of the character and the history of the piece. Some wear to the surface of the moonstones, in line with her age but no cracks or chips at all. I shall send in a gift box to keep her safe during transit and send by complimentary Tracked and Signed post. Thank you.
