Description
A wonderful design statement, fully hallmarked for London, although I cannot work out the date letter as it is too tiny. I think it may be around the year 2000. There is also a maker’s mark which is tricky to see too. However, probably a one-off studio made piece, which I interpret as an homage to the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th century.
A Modernism take on the A&C flower bouquet brooches. I see both Dorrie Nossiter’s tiny silver ball decorations in this piece, as well as the slot-headed screw motifs of Helen Holmes of Bath.
A very clever piece of design, which is striking, has a mechanical element, however because of the curved silver lines, has the fluidity of something much more organic.
I am so happy to see amethyst used as the cabochon here-as the purple against the silver is always one of my favourite combinations. A beautiful, streamlined and elegant piece, which will be a talking point when you wear it!
It measures approx 8.4cm in length. Ready to wear or else to gift! Please note the box in the images is for display purposes only, however, I will package in a new gift box. Thank you!
