A lovely dangle brooch by William Fuglede of Denmark, c1900 and very much in the Skonvirke (Art Nouveau) style of that era. This is a lovely size and has those typically sinuous and organic lines. Fully signed too, which is excellent.
This brooch is of course, naturalistic in form, with longer, draped leaf-like details and berries interspersed throughout the design.
The inverted detail on the dangle section reflects the design on the main part of the brooch.
Very pretty, with what I consider just the right amount of patina to enhance the detailing. Both the amber cab and the silver work are in excellent order.
The brooch measures approx 6.3cm in height by approx 4.5cm across, including the pin. All original and fully stamped with the William Fuglede maker’s mark, S for Danish silver and 830 for the silver standard.
