Description

What a wonderful example of Bernard’s more up-market “chandelier” type of Arts and Crafts earrings. Structured in three articulated sections, each having those fine hand-tooled Instone leaves and even more delicate on these screw back earrings, being earlier pieces. Those sapphire pastes have been faceted beautifully and they shift their sparkling colour from navy to mid blue depending on the light hitting them. A graceful and elegant pair of earrings! They are featured in literature too, on page 163 of “Bernard Instone Designer and Craftsman; the art of a jeweller” by Tracy Henriksen.

I love the vertical momentum of these earrings. The oval section that sits at the lobe has a single leaf, with the next link having a leaf and also a tendril. The leaves and tendrils then abound in the statement final drop. They are instantly recognisable as quality Bernard earrings because of the motifs. All carefully hand-crafted with the detailing you get on his earlier work. Flip them over and you will see a stalk with a cluster of berries decorating the verso.

A glorious pair and in such stunning condition. The drop measures approx 4.5cm. Stamped as sterling silver. Superb examples all round!

I shall post by special delivery within the UK or else by courier internationally. Please note the boxes in the images are not included, however I will send in new boxes for their safekeeping. Thank you.
