What a glorious antique Victorian necklace, with clusters of domed Ceylon blue moonstones and an impressive long central Ceylon moonstone drop of extraordinary adularescence. If that is not enough to make you swoon, at the heart of the design sits a gorgeous pink tourmaline. It is a particularly beautiful necklace. 16 stones in all-could this be a Sweet 16 gift for a lucky recipient?
Crafted in sterling silver, the necklace retains her original chains and barrel clasp fastener. As mentioned the stones are wonderful and I also love the copious, tiny silver claws keeping each stone in place. The moonstones (each shaped differently) are set either individually or else in those trefoil clusters, representing naturalistic shapes. The blues that shimmer in this necklace are superb. The main stone on the drop is fabulously blue as you can see-the drop section measures approx 3.6cm. This beautiful thing is in pleasing condition with no damage to the stones. The wearable length of the necklace is approx 38.5cm (approx 15.25 inches). No stamps but all fully tested as sterling silver, pink tourmaline and moonstones.
