Description
Lovely antique Egyptian lotus flower brooch with striking plique-a-jour enamel colours of purple, turquoise and green. The silver has a strong golden wash over it, which sets off the finish of the brooch beautifully. It has four tiny cabochons of blue lapis/glass in a banded detail near the bottom of the large flower.
A lovely Art Nouveau / Jugendstil stylised design in very good condition, complete with original pin and C clasp. Perhaps one line of shrinkage from the metal edge in the last purple panel on the right…mentioned for accuracy purposes only, as you wouldn’t see it unless scrutinising. I am unsure whether she was created in Germany or in Egypt but she is a lovely antique thing with an unusual design. The brooch measures approx 4.1cm in width, including the pin.
