Description
Such a punchy drop of design, undoubtedly from the Levinger & Bissinger team in Pforzheim, c1905. Their use of the very stylised ribbed leaves on either side of their pieces is instantly recognisable. As in most Jugendstil pieces which have passed through my hands over the years, this is a petite but mighty thing!
I have never before seen bluebells in one of the Levinger Bissinger brooch designs like this. Three graduated bluebell flowers hanging down at the top of the design, and beneath, three small cabochons of either rubies or else ruby pastes. Such a wonderfully romantic piece, especially with the more unusual pink stones.
A pure, concentrated drop of fabulous Jugendstil, in excellent condition, with original catch and pin too. It measures approx 3.4cm including the end of the pin. It is marked simply “900” but the mark will be recognised as the same design of stylised numbering used in other L&B pieces. It is not unusual for it to carry no maker’s mark. However, the leaves give this away.
I will send by Tracked and Signed For delivery in a new gift box. Any boxes in the images are for demonstration only – thank you.
