An exceptional pair of beautiful antique Russian earrings from the c1900 to 1910 era. They are crafted in 14ct yellow gold and have been so precisely worked. They are exquisite things, with fine touches, such as the hand mille grained settings to the pair of sparkling rubies on each earring. I love that they represent the finest stones placed together, undoubtedly as a display of opulence. Natural rubies, natural pearls and natural rose-cut diamonds.
They are delicate and impressive in their design too, with diamonds set on the overall triangular-like structure of the main section, including integrated foliate designs. The rubies are well-matched and are a lovely deep pink…catching the light easily in their facets. The tiny natural pearls set at the bottom of each drop have such a creamy lustre.
A rare chance to purchase high quality, antique earrings with a fine design as well as with quality materials. There is a tiny Russian mark to one of the earrings but I am not able to see it clearly / decipher it. I am assuming early years 1900s which puts them at the start of the Edwardian era.
Fitted with gold wires and ready to wear, each earring measures approx 3.2cm in height. Just lovely things!
All stones and gold work in excellent condition. These beautiful things will make a welcome addition to someone’s antique jewellery collection. The beautiful silk and velvet lined box is leather I believe and I assume it is original to the earrings.
