Description
An antique Victorian arrow brooch from the c1900 era, an crafted in high carat gold (tested).
The Victorians were particularly fond of symbolism in jewellery, often using symbols to represent love and trueness of love- the arrow was one of them. It was meant to represent Cupid’s arrow and so, the recipient wore it to symbolise the deep love they held for a certain someone.
It is a sweet little thing, measuring approx 4.1cm in length. No marks, as was fairly typical for many antique pieces, but has been tested as high carat gold.
This is a chic and elegant brooch to adorn a lapel. A subtle piece which packs a lovely design punch when worn.
In pleasing condition and ready to wear. Retains original pin and original gold clasp.
