Description
A petite and utterly fabulous Gaskins pendant amazingly still nestling in her Gaskins fitted box from the c1900 era. It was created in Acock’s Green, Birmingham by the powerhouse creative team of Arthur Gaskin and his wife Georgina, in Birmingham, England.
It is always such a delight to find a Gaskins’ piece as each one is of course, different to the last. I adore that this pendant has such a simple but beautiful design and features four opals in the main part of the design, with larger oval opal suspended below.
The bale is wonderfully typical of the Gaskins too, with a rope work detail running vertically down the middle and a single flower/button motif decorating it at the front. If you are seeking something blue, something understated but fabulous-then this could be for you!
Always a delight to find a historic piece nestled in its original box and there aren’t many examples of these Gaskins boxes left anymore. This one is a green leather tooled box, lined with velvet and silk with the words ” JEWELLERS Mr & Mrs Arthur Gaskin, ACOCK’S GREEN” visible in gold on the pale silk.
The pendant measures approx 4cm in height. In ready-to-wear condition, the top opal is a replacement but that is the only thing to mention.
If you have always longed for a Gaskins’ piece, this could be your chance. Tracked and signed post is included. I will send by courier internationally. Ref: cgv
