Description

I adore these Edwardian fringe necklaces of quality and how lovely to have one crafted, much more unusually, in gold. With 21 moonstones in total, it could be a significant coming of age gift to a lucky recipient. Moonstones and gold make such an opulent combination- what’s not to love!

Such movement in this necklace because of all the drops. There are 11 round moonstones spectacle-set on the main part of the chain. There are nine drops with an oval spectacle-set suspended on each. The central drop has three stones in a row, as it has an extra, smaller round moonstone in the centre. The drops all culminate with a spectacle-set oval moonstone.

The moonstones shift from clear to flashes of blue as you would expect. Each of the round cabochons on the main chain are connected to each other via double links. The chain is a type of narrow paperclip chain, also crafted in gold. That makes it a little more substantial than other similar necklaces with only a fine trace chain. In lovely antique condition and ready to wear or else to gift. Chains, clasp and stones’ settings are gold -the links connecting the stones may be silver gilt for strength reasons, as was the case for most of these gold moonstone necklaces.

A beauty of a piece, in excellent condition. I had my jeweller replace the old inferior clasp for a more secure 9ct gold clasp so she is ready to wear! I shall send in a necklace presentation box by complimentary special delivery within the UK or else by express courier internationally. All boxes in the images are not included. Thank you.
