Description
A lovely Art Deco colour enamels ring, fully signed as a Bernard Instone ring on the inside of the band. The unusual round enamel plaque has been hand set in its setting and is so eye catching as it combines midnight blue with black and then seems to be overlaid with gold/pyrites? You can actually see the pieces poking through the enamel. I guess it is an enamel version of lapis lazuli-very clever! The colours definitely give a nod to the Art Deco too.
I love the simplicity of this design, with its typical Arts and Crafts double band and the placement of a single draped vine leaf on each shoulder. Beautifully naturalistic without being overly fussy.
The enamel plaque has a diameter of approx 1.3cm. Signed on the inside of the band “SILVER B.I” and it measures approx UK size N (US 6.75).
In excellent order-just some patina you may wish to polish further. I will send to you in a brand new giftbox as the box in the images is for display only. Thank you!
