Description

A wonderfully large and impressive dress clip, fully signed by Bernard Instone c1930 in the most amazing design. Instone is perhaps best known for his enamel work so this is a stupendous example, having fresh blue and green enamels studded with gold detailing on the little forget-me-not flowers in the design. It is in super condition, which is becoming rarer for these enamel pieces.

I love pale blue stones and this beautifully-cut, stepped spinel stone is just superb! It bounces the light around and because of the large size of the stone, elevates the whole look of the piece. A rare dress clip of a beautiful design, allowing you to pass a chain through it so it can be worn as a pendant.

This will be a lovely addition to anyone’s arts and crafts collection, as it represents the very best of Instone’s enamel designs which feature stones too. She’s a beauty! Signed on the verso “B.I” an “SILVER”-you can see the beautifully hand crafted nature of the way the verso of the clip has been fitted to accommodate the deep spinel. Spinels  themselves, are also more and more sought after. This one is gorgeous!

The piece measures approx 4.8cm in height and approx 4.2cm wide. Please note the chain is not included, it was merely used to demonstrate how you could wear this piece as a pendant too.
