A really attractive Arts and Crafts brooch, c1910 which is beautifully worked by hand; every hand tooled leaf crafted and applied individually. It has a definite Birmingham school look but I can’t attribute 100% to any one maker. Looks also like an Edith Linnell piece I once owned.
Beautiful detailing in those hand tooled vine leaves and clusters of grapes….each silver grape applied to the next to make these bunches. A fabulous finish on the reverse too, with circles and diamond forms alternating around the framework of the brooch.
In excellent condition, nice straight pin, safety chain and a touch of patina, which really gets into the veins on the leaves and looks beautiful.
It measures approx 3.6cm in diameter. No markings, fairly typical, but it does test as silver. I will send in a new gift box as the box in the images is for display only. Thank you.
