Description

An undoubtedly one-off and unique piece of hand-wrought English Arts and crafts design from the early days of the 1900s. Tiny little, stylised leaves adorn either side of this extended oval brooch. The jade is a most attractive pale green colour with inclusions. It is just a beautiful thing, in all-original condition, retaining its silver pin, hinge and C clasp.

The translucent nature of the stone is aided by the fact it is open-backed in its setting, allowing all of the light through the stone. Each side of the brooch is decorated with a leaves’ arrangement and each side is different, adding to the authenticity of this being a hand-crafted piece of work. Clearly worked by delicate hands-I love the smaller detailing of the leaves, which are very distinctive. I also have other pieces with the same leaves and clearly by the same designer so please do check those items.

It measures approx 6.3cm in width by approx 1.8cm wide. Unmarked, but tests as sterling silver and in pleasing condition. Some patina remains. I shall send in a new gift box by complimentary Special Delivery within the UK or else by International tracked and signed. Box in the images is for display only-thank you.
