Description
A lovely, large Jugendstil brooch c1900 stamped simply “800”. Very Theodor Fahrner in design, with two large vine leaves, tendrils and clusters of grapes. One cluster is represented by a grouping of four round chrysoprase stones.
A large oval framework and open work design ensures this is a light and airy design, which could actually be used as a pendant, if you ran a chain behind the pin. More and more people are using brooches in this way.
The apple green chrysoprase stones give a lovely pique of interest against the silver work. The brooch measures approx 4.5cm wide (the pin is slightly longer than the brooch, which is a good sign it is the original!) and approx 3.6cm in height.
It is in pleasing condition and retains its original pin and C clasp. It will be boxed in a new gift box safely for its journey to you.
