Description
This is an elegant and beautiful British Arts and Crafts necklace, dating from c1910. It is firmly attributed to the designer Charles Horner. The honeycomb section in the centre of the main part of the pendant has been noted on a brooch by Charles Horner and it is the same silver work here, once again with a bezel set MOP in the centre of the design.
It is such a pretty design, with the wreath of oak leaves running around the inside of the outer circle. I love these fabulous necklaces, when you get a smaller detail above the main part of the pendant, to which four chains are attached. It helps the necklace to sit well when worn but is also very reminiscent of those Liberty designs of the era.
The main pendant features a delicate design on a largeish circle which is punctuated by tiny claw-set stones (paste) which are such a lovely addition. An extra special touch to just using the pearl, which I have seen on the brooches.
The wearable length of the chain is approx 39cm long (approx 15.25 inches) which puts this as a choker style and the drop will sit just under your neck.
The pendant drop from the smaller pearl feature is approx 6.2cm. The diameter of the circular section is approx 3cm.
All stones present and correct. In excellent condition. Some patina you may wish to leave / clean.
Many thanks and please do ask if you have any further questions. Please note the box is for display purposes only and the necklace will be securely boxed in another box for safe passage.Ref:cor
