What a perfectly beautiful statement of Arts and Crafts design c1900. A lovely hand wrought pendant with hand tooled vine leaves and its own matching vine-leaf decorated bale. It is such intricate and masterful work, in pleasing condition.
The whole pendant has good articulation, being in three parts, firstly the vine-leaf bale, which leads to the main section of the pendant, in a silver openwork design, decorated with vine leaves at the top. Just above them are two large clusters of tiny silver balls representing clusters of grapes. Several sinuous lines in silver run down the sides of the pendant to the bottom. A baroque pearl is suspended below and you can see the precise way the craftsperson has twisted the wire around the pearl- a lovely little detail.
The large central turquoise stone is set in an open-backed fine mille grain setting, which adds that touch of refinement rather well. The whole pendant is a beauty, at approx 5.5cm in height. It is ready to pop onto one of your own chains, as this listing is for the pendant only.
