A really elegant and beautiful pair of drop earrings from the Edwardian era, c1910 and very unusually, the stones are fluorite. These lovely things retain their original silver screw backs and are clearly stamped as sterling silver.

It is so very unusual to see antique fluorite earrings like this, as usually you would find amethyst. However, the light purple with white swirls in the stones is just fabulous. An elongated teardrop is suspended from a marcasite-studded setting. This in turn suspends from a small silver chain, beneath the round set fluorite at the lobe. A lovely Edwardian, neo-Classical design is featured on the side of the collar setting on the top stones. Such excellent finishing.

Very elegant earrings, with each main stone being smooth, fine and sleek. The stones are not identical…as you would really hope to find for such carefully, hand crafted pieces. One stone has a tiny natural fissure at an edge. They are in remarkably pleasing condition for such antique earrings. Each earring measures approx 5cm in height by approx 1.1cm wide.

Lovely earrings from the glamour of the Edwardian period in a stone, which you rarely find in earrings of this design. A joy!
