Description

A sensational Arts and Crafts dress ring c1930  by Dorrie Nossiter and a very rare thing indeed. It is crafted mainly in 9ct gold, with the shank being stamped as “9CT” and with some silver settings being used for all of those tiny claws to show the fabulous gems at their very best. This flower design was used on a few of Dorrie’s rings but I have to say the colours here are phenomenal together.

There is  a faceted green tourmaline in the centre of the design and an arrangement of 7 teardrop-shaped paler green peridots forming the cluster. 7 faceted dark pinky red rubies are arranged in between those peridot petals on the outer edge of the ring. Typically, Dorrie has also dotted her motif gold balls around the periphery of the ring too. This is a feast on the eyes, as I find all of Dorrie’s pieces are. There is sparkle and a richness of colour, with it being evident the hours and hours of work that went into the creation of this wonderful and important ring.

The shank is rather unusual, being in gold, being a single shank that splits into two on each shoulder. The ring is in pleasing condition with only light wear to the stones and no chips or fractures-phew! The diameter of the face of the ring is approx 2cm in diameter. She measures as approx UK size M (US 6.25) and is a joy to wear.

I shall send in whichever ring box I can find to accommodate her in, as she is large and does not fit in the period boxes I have. Complimentary courier internationally is included as is  Royal Mail’s Special Delivery for the UK.
