Description

A sensationally rare thing, an authentic Dorrie Nossiter ring in superb condition and demonstrating why her choice of stones was truly sublime. Crafted in the c1930, Dorrie used a large, rectangular, faceted citrine of a beautiful buttery colour and surrounded it in a delicate halo of pale blue aquamarines and white pearls. It is such a wonderfully appealing ring and is such a rare piece to come onto the market nowadays.

The sparkling central citrine is held in place by lots of claws, already giving it that Dorrie look. Oval aquamarines and half pearls alternate in the design, with a gold ball in each of the four corners. The gallery of the ring, where the band meets the front on each side, is stunning, with its gold balls and coils typical of Dorrie’s work. It is a thing of wonder, with such precision, as well as having such a satisfying mix of gem stones. The band is gilded to blend in with the gold detailing on the rest of the ring.

It has clearly been adored and cosseted as it is in such amazing condition. Quite honestly, once you put it on, you just don’t want to take it back off again. It measures approx as a UK size M.5 (approx US 6.25). It is a beautiful statement of the vibrant Arts and Crafts era in Birmingham in the 1920s to 1930s and a testament to the craft of an amazing designer and silversmith.

I will send in a new gift box as the boxes in the images are for display only. Complimentary international courier or else Special Delivery within the UK. Thank you.
