A lovely pair of c1930 Edith Linnell British Arts and Crafts earrings. Hand wrought and laden with mixed gem stones, so typical of Edith Linnell. The same Linnell earrings (same stones too-only in different positions) were sold a few years ago at the wonderful Tadema Gallery. These earrings also have amethyst, citrine and green tourmaline. The tiny leaves are detailed so well and there are distinctive clusters of tiny silver berries throughout the design.
These have already been converted from screw backs to silver hook fittings so they really are ready to wear. Stones and silver work are in excellent condition-one earring retains a little more patina than the other but I will leave it for you to decide whether to clean both or to leave them.
Stamped “SILVER” on the verso-they were most likely made at Instone’s Langstone Silver works. They measure approx 1.5cm by 1.5cm. I shall send in a new gift box and by Tracked and Signed For delivery. Thank you.
