Description
A captivating diamond paste bracelet, crafted in the early decades of the twentieth century, reflecting the ideals of the Edwardian and Belle Epoque eras. The pastes (as you can see) are still wonderfully bright and reflective. The bracelet has been well-constructed and moves sinuously across your wrist, giving such a lovely fit. She is an English piece and has numerous UK hallmarks (lion passant) on both the clasp and on alternate panels on the bracelet itself.
The bracelet feels squat and sturdy in your hand and has a pleasing gravitas. Each panel has a large centrally-set paste with tiny leaves round it, set with smaller pastes. I love that this has a decorated box clasp, which gives that “riviere” feel when worn….with a full 360 degrees of pastes being visible. It also retains its original silver safety arm, for added security when worn.
It is such a pleasing piece with gravitas and weight but also such lightness and beauty of design …so typically Edwardian. Rare to find all original pastes present and undamaged and that adds another pleasing element to the piece.
