Description
A very beautiful Arts and Crafts ring hand-crafted by the English husband and wife team of Charles and Gladys Mumford c1950. They had an easily identifiable design style, which involved the arrangement of these simple split leaves, as well as the use of square teeth settings for the stones. This is one of the better examples I have come across by them and is a very attractive ring to wear.
It is such a harmonious and balanced piece, being circular with that well-placed halo of leaves running around the circumference of the face of the ring. I always love to see chrysoprase (stained agate) set against silver in these delightful Arts and Crafts pieces. A very lovely combination. The ring sits well on the finger and is gently mounded so that it does not present edges for snagging and so on. A lovely wide silver band adds further comfort and stability to the ring.
It is in excellent condition, as you can see, with a hint of patina, adding depth to those central veins in the leaves. The diameter of the face is approx 1.8cm so she makes a fabulous statement. The ring size measures as approx UK size K (US size 5).
I will send in a new gift box as the boxes in the images are for display only. Complimentary international tracked and signed postage is included or else Special Delivery within the UK. Thank you.
