Description
What a wonderful example of Bernard’s early 1925 to 1930 Arts and Crafts earrings. Structured in three articulated sections, each having those fine hand-tooled Instone leaves and tendrils, with the main circular section set with a Cadbury’s Royal purple Siberian amethyst and contrasting green pastes A truly vibrant, statement pair of earrings! They are featured in literature too, on page 162 of “Bernard Instone Designer and Craftsman; the art of a jeweller” by Tracy Henriksen.
The use of those complementary-coloured stones is sublime, with Bernard matching those startlingly vivid Siberian amethysts with just the perfect shade of green pastes. The result is a wonderfully bright floral display that is oh so attractive. The earrings have beautifully tidy versos as you would expect from Bernard’s designs and they are fitted with the original 9ct gold screw back fittings.
A glorious pair of early Instone high quality earrings, which are featured in literature about the designer, and they are in such stunning condition. The drop measures approx 4.1cm. Screwbacks stamped as 9ct gold.
