Description
A sleek and fine Art Deco design ring, which is from the late 1920s era and wonderfully executed in 90% platinum and 10% iridium. This was rather a rare and opulent mix in the era, with the iridium (in the platinum group of metals) being utilised to bring extra strength and extra “whiteness” to the platinum. Iridium is both rarer and more expensive than platinum. It is astonishingly shiny and white so when you see the ring, you appreciate how that extra dimension adds to the intensity of the white sparkle of the diamonds. It is a beautiful antique gem in pristine condition.
This ring has the perfect size in my opinion-large enough to be noticed for the true Art Deco beauty she is and yet sleek and ergonomically comfortable so that she is wearable as a daytime ring too. The design is gorgeous, with the geometric lines and juxtaposition of circles and squares. Each round cut diamond sits in its own square millegrained setting. The fact that the design is also an openwork design in the metal also means extra light gets in and around the diamonds, increasing the sparkle. I love the three way split of the band as it attached to the face of the ring-you can see that well in the video.
The platinum / iridium band is shiny and bright and super reflective so it sparkles and bounces light, as well as the diamonds. The ring is stamped on the inside of the band with the “10% IRID. PLAT.” mark.
It measures approx UK size N (approx US size 6.75). The face of the ring is approx 2.2cm in height. It is a fabulous piece of antique Art Deco work, with a gorgeous design and lots of sparkle. She’s a keeper for sure.
I shall send in a new gift box by complimentary express courier internationally or else by special delivery within the UK. Boxes in the images are for display only, thank you.
