Description
Amazing antique Victorian era Italian drop earrings. These earrings match an impressive brooch I am selling separately, which is also crafted in gold with natural coral beads. I have attached photos.
A very similar example to this brooch is exhibited at the British Museum in London.
Having been created most likely in the mid 1800s in Naples, Italy these are a joy to find a joy of a find for several reasons. Not least as each “bunch of grapes” is made up with dozens of hand crafted and individual coral beads. They are attached to their antique, stamped “9CT” gold screw back constructions.
The drop on the earrings is approx 3.8cm. In pleasing condition for earrings that are approx 175 years old!! One tiny ball is missing from each but this is not noticeable due to the design (one is on the back and the other on the bottom of the other earring). Priced to take this into account. Part of the structure is in gold too. Some patina to the metal at the back although I have not attempted to polish. (see last photo). The beads are the most beautiful colour-so rich and so warm. A joy!
I will send in a new gift box (boxes in the images are for display only) by special delivery within the UK or else by international express courier. Thank you.
