NOW RESERVED -thank you!

A glorious and rare c1900 Arts and Crafts ring by Jessie Marion King (of the Glasgow Girls) for Liberty & Co, London. There were many less rings made by Jessie King than pendants, for example, so my heart always leaps for joy when I come across one of her rings. This is a fabulous thing, hand crafted in high carat gold and in silver, with glassy shiny, vivid blue enamelling on the leaves. They seem to glisten as if they are wet.

The central creamy blister pearl has been set in its own complete setting of gold (covered in gold on the reverse too) which has a fine millegrain finish. The organic wreath of stems and leaves which forms a halo around the pearl, juxtaposes the teal/turquoise of the enamelling with the white of the pearl at the centre – fabulous! I adore how King has used balls of gold and set them in pairs, interspersing the enamelled leaves’ pairings. They look like vivid berries.

A typical A&C double band in sterling silver completes the ring. I have to say that this has to be the most ethereal and comfortable ring I have ever tried on. It feels like a feather! You don’t even feel like you are wearing it-very appropriate as King always felt inspired by the fairies in her design. This is a precise, ethereal, inspired ring in superb condition-what a joy!

It measures as approx UK size K (US 5.25). The ring face is approx 1.4cm – petite, graceful and packs a strong design punch.

I will send by International Tracked and signed, or Special Delivery and will include the blue box in the images, which I acquired her in.
