Description
A beautiful, rare design by Liberty & Co created in circa 1900 and which showcases the most wonderful turquoise blue to green enamel shades. I particularly love the shape and design of the main pendant…so unusual and of course, those matching enamel spacers too. Most likely created at the Haseler workshop, like so many Liberty pieces were in that era.
Beautifully executed in such a fine and precise way, this necklace is a wonderful Liberty’s example and even retains its original barrel clasp fastener. In the centre of the pendant is a faceted amethyst, set with four silver balls to the foot of the setting. A halo around it before the enamel sections begin. There is a wonderful sort of fish scales design of silver in alternating enamel panels. There is also a lovely shimmer of these vibrant turquoise blue to green shades. A tiny mother-of-pearl is set at each of the cardinal points on the edge of the pendant.
A single chain on each side connects the pendant to the enamel spacers on each side. From there, a double chain is connected to the main chain, giving a kind of festoon effect on each side. This is a lovely choker style of necklace so you will be able to see the enamelling near your throat. Any fluctuations in the colour of the enamel is as you would completely expect from the process itself. The colours are fabulous.
It is the first I have seen of this particular design so I am sure it will be loved by all. In excellent condition. The drop of the necklace is approx 6.5cm and the wearable length of the chain is approx 39.5cm (15.5 inches). Complimentary Special Delivery is included within the UK and Express courier internationally. Thank you. A new gift box will be supplied as the boxes in the images are not included.
