Description

A simply wonderful Murrle Bennett c1900 Arts and Crafts 9ct gold bracelet, which exudes taste and style. The proportions of this bracelet are just wonderful. Created by the best goldsmiths of the era c1900, this signed MB bracelet demonstrates the quality and precision of the work being carried out by those jewellers. This would grace any wrist beautifully.

With her alternating panels in gold, those set with creamy white (and still so lustrous) panels of blister pearl and those with an open work design cut into them…it seems to have traversed time and eras, hence can still be viewed as a piece of jewellery, which resonates with us today. So contemporary and clean-cut in its design.

I love it! The attention to detail is typically exquisite (it is a Murrle Bennett piece!) even down to the tiny, fine mille grain detailing in the square settings for the blister pearls. This particular example is slightly longer as it has a lovely half-way feature of two MOP panels next to each other. It puts the length at a little over 18.5cms (approx 7 and a quarter inches).

The width of the bracelet is approx 1cm. I am so tempted to keep her, however, I think she will be an ideal Christmas gift for some lucky individual! Time to let her fly methinks. Signed “9ct” and partial but clear MBo maker’s mark. There is an original jewellers number of “269” etched into the area near the other marks. In all-original condition, including the original gold safety chain.
