These are the most wonderful antique Arts and Crafts earrings c1900-1910, hand crafted in gold with beautiful gems. A rare find, as many more A&C earrings were created in silver so it is always a rarity to find them in gold like this. These are achingly gorgeous. You can see the Art Nouveau motif of heart-shaped leaves at the top of the design so I am sure these fabulous earrings will appeal to lovers of A&C and AN alike.

These are amazing survivors and oh my goodness, so very wearable today. They were sold to me with the clearish stones being referred to as moonstone. However, the colour shifts from inside the stone with stones having shifts in colour from blue, some stones shift to an orangeish hue and some to a greenish hue. They are, therefore,  most probably water opals. Even the garnets are exquisitely cut-first time I have seen them like this, faceted up the sides so that are like towers. All of this work is hand crafted and each setting has been individually created for that particular stone.

They are already fitted with wires so that you can wear them as soon as you receive them. They are in three sections, water opal set first and then suspended below the main open work shield shape with the leaves and gems, and finally a water opal drop. They move fabulously when worn. The gold is even stamped on the verso of one earring with the Edwardian gold stamp “9CT” on a little plaque.

From the top of the first opal to the bottom of each earring is approx 3.8cm. They are just sensationally rare things, in pleasing condition with no chips or scratches to the stones at all.

I shall send in a new gift box by Special Delivery within the UK and by courier internationally. Thank you.
