Vintage Victorian style high carat gilded silver openwork earrings with citrine

Sunshine yellows in these lovely citrine earrings, fitted with posts

1 in stock

A pair of vintage earrings, in a Victorian style with lovely foliate openwork frames and claw-set, faceted citrines. These may be older than I think, as the band with the posts looks to have been added to the verso, so perhaps they were originally fitted with screw backs. Very much in an ornate, antique style-I love the floral, foliate cut-out design in the opal halo of each earring.

The citrines are very well-matched and bounce the light beautifully. They are a sort of mid-yellow colour and they look lovely against the gold. Unmarked but acid tested as 22ct gold on the surface-I am assuming silver below. They are a rich combinations of yellows that’s for sure. Such sunny earrings -they come with solid gold, hand-crafted backs too.

Each earring measures approx 1.8cm by 1.5cm. In excellent condition and ready to wear. I shall send in a new gift box and by complimentary post. Box in images is for display. Thank you.
