Description

A beautiful hand-crafted ring in 15ct yellow gold, dating from the Victorian era of the late 1880-1890s. It is such a bright jewel, aided hugely by that wonderfully buttery yellow gold. To me, it is almost reminiscent of the Medieval jewellery designs, so attractive. It bears no marks but I am assuming it is English in origin. In my research, I found one other historic example like this, however, that ring had amethyst chips with the pearls and here we have diamonds. The sparkles of those tiny diamonds play with the bright creamy white of the pearls to give such a crisp and pure foil for the bright yellow of the gold.

It is a quite a flat ring, so the band and face sit snugly against your skin in a particularly comfortable way. The dainty design of the face is gorgeous – that plaque with 6 pearls and 4 diamonds. Split shoulders and then a smaller plaque to each side, containing a further two pearls each. In total, 10 pearls and 4 diamonds. It looks so fabulous on the finger. No marks but has been tested as 15ct gold.

It measures as approx UK size P (US 7.5). There is a partial mark on the inside of the rim but it looks as if the ring has been resized in the past (probably from a very small original size) and the stamp may have been obscured in that process of resizing. I have not had the pearls tested for origin but they do have a lovely lustre.  Weighs 1.9g. A light, flat, easy-to-wear beautiful antique ring, which is such a rare design.

I will send by international tracked and signed or else by Special Delivery within the UK. The box in the images is not included, however, I shall send in a new ring box for you. Thank you!
